The Girl And The Knight (Chapter 4)

Chapter 4

She took off in the knight’s steed to the same lake of dark, murky and shallow waters, where the knight had found her, as she dismounted the horse, she looked in the murky waters and saw a black reflection rising from the waters, the air felt cold, and the mist felt like frost, she knew who was in the water, the one she was promised to meet someday, The angel of Death.  Death smiled at the girl and said; “Ahh, we finally shall meet as I promised…” “I am Death, and I have come to collect you, it is the time”.  The girl, just stared at the dark figure and saw that he had offered her his hand.  The girl took his hand without question and said; “All I cared was for my Knight, and now he is gone, so I have no more reason to be alive, I don’t care for nothing anymore, I can’t live in a world where he doesn't exist; I don’t want to live anymore without him, so please Angel of Death, be merciful to me this time, and take thy life away from me”.  Death replied to the girl; “That is why I have come, let us dance together, to the underworld”

So after a few days, she went for a swim in a deep dark murky waters, until she started to drown, and as she kick in the water, she saw that there was no use to fight against the impossible, so she gave up, right in the end... Until... she looked up above the water, she saw a glowing light, a hand reach for her and she took it, but she was so weak, that the knight had to carry her out of the murky waters, as he laid her in the ground, she looked into his eyes, and there in his eyes she saw something she has never seen... Hope... Hope to live, hope to love, and hope to be happy... So the knight looked into her eyes too and said. "Why did you give up swimming?" "What if I was very far and couldn't hear you scream?" "You could have died" And the girl answered... "I knew you were looking for me, as I was looking for you; but I was so afraid, to go on without you, that I didn't want to live in a world where you don't exist"

And the knight saw that girl, meant what she said that he carried her, to his castle, and gave her shelter, food, and clean clothing, but she was so happy now that she could write... all she had to do was look into the knight eyes and be inspired to write... And the knight and the girl were very much friends indeed... She laughs at his jokes and stories and vice-versa...
